Job Overview

A boutique labor and employment law firm is seeking a highly motivated Senior Attorney specializing in wage and hour litigation, with the potential for partnership opportunities. Location

Duties

  • Handle complex wage and hour collective/class action litigation cases, primarily in federal court, including the Fourth Circuit.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, engage in oral arguments, and negotiate settlements at mediations.
  • Assist in organizing and managing discovery, including electronic data and document review.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including organizing evidence, preparing witness examinations, and managing pretrial motions.
  • Meet with potential clients and conduct follow-up discussions with existing clients to gather case facts.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and execution.
  • Engage in client representation at court hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings.

Requirements

  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with judicial clerkship experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with federal court procedures, particularly within North Carolina and the Fourth Circuit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in North Carolina.
