Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort Associate Attorney to join its asbestos practice group. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters, with a focus on toxic tort and environmental liability cases. This position requires handling a diverse caseload, conducting depositions, and preparing for trial while working in a collaborative environment with senior attorneys and clients.

Duties

  • Manage local and national accounts across California.
  • Independently handle a litigation caseload, including preparation and management of cases from start to finish.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel, including experience with e-filing.
  • Provide trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely time records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California.
  • Experience in motion practice, depositions, and leading plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Capable of working independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in California.

Skills

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in motion practice and depositions.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
