A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its pre-litigation team in Mesa, AZ. The ideal candidate will be passionate about assisting clients through the intricacies of personal injury claims. You will be responsible for managing cases from intake through settlement negotiations and will collaborate closely with senior attorneys to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and research to assess the viability of personal injury claims.
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and other relevant parties to gather essential documentation and information.
  • Draft and submit demand letters, medical record requests, and other necessary legal correspondence.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies, advocating for the best interests of clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for potential litigation.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant case files, adhering to legal and firm standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends that impact personal injury claims.
  • Handle small cases with limited paralegal support as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on pre-litigation matters preferred.
  • Ability to independently handle case evaluation, research, and client communication.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of hire (Utah, Arizona, and/or Idaho).

Skills:

  • Strong ability to evaluate, research, and negotiate personal injury claims.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal correspondence, including demand letters and medical record requests.
