Job Overview: A law firm in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Senior Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in estate planning and/or estate administration and a strong background in advising clients on real estate and business transactions.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and estate administration.
  • Manage complex estate matters, including high-net-worth estates and family businesses.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Advise clients on real estate transactions and business entity formations (LLC, corporate, partnership).
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to trusts and estates law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Maryland Bar; DC and Virginia Bars preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience practicing trusts and estates law.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning techniques and tax implications.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation or Estate Planning.
  • Experience working with diverse clients, including high-net-worth individuals and families.
