Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking to hire a Public/Project Finance Associate with 2-5 years of public, project, or finance transaction experience for its Phoenix office. The ideal candidate will have experience in public and/or project finance transactions, including renewable energy, housing, health care, water/sewer, education facilities, and other infrastructure projects. This position offers significant responsibility with client contact and an emphasis on teamwork. Associates will also have opportunities for involvement in marketing and business development.

Location:

  • Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

  • Represent borrowers/developers, investment banks, investors, issuers, and lenders in public and project finance transactions.

  • Handle transactions related to renewable energy, housing, health care, water/sewer, education facilities, and other infrastructure projects.

  • Manage finance documentation and tax equity matters.

  • Take responsibility for client interactions, providing strategic advice on finance matters.

  • Engage in marketing and business development activities, including interacting with clients at conferences and industry events.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of public, project, or other finance transaction experience.

  • Experience in public and/or project finance documentation.

  • Hands-on experience in closing transactions is highly preferred.

  • Ability to work closely with clients and handle substantial client contact.

  • Strong emphasis on teamwork and collaborative efforts.

  • Active bar license in Arizona is preferred.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in Arizona is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of public and project finance transactions.

  • Proficient in drafting and managing finance-related documentation.

  • Experience in tax equity transactions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong teamwork and client management skills.
