Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: A national boutique law firm, based in Chicago, is seeking experienced Family Law Attorneys to join their team on a contract basis, with the potential to transition into full-time employment. Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of family law matters from start to finish, including divorce, custody, child support, and property division cases.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in court, attending hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Provide compassionate and effective communication with clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout the process.
• Collaborate with other team members to deliver excellent results for clients.
• Work efficiently and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality legal work.
• Contribute to the growth of the family law practice by assisting with business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Illinois (Required).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in family law, or comparable experience.
• Strong legal writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high standards of service and client care.
• Experience with court proceedings, hearings, and trials in family law cases.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar (Required).

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of family law statutes and procedures in Illinois.
• Legal research and drafting proficiency.
• Experience managing a caseload and handling all aspects of family law cases.
