Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive tax planning and advice to a wide range of clients, including multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Engage in federal, state, and local tax controversies, ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws.
  • Counsel clients on transactional planning, audit defense, and representation in administrative proceedings.
  • Collaborate with the Government Law and Policy Practice to achieve legislative results for clients.
  • Support senior management and business owners with personal income and estate planning issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of relevant experience in state and local tax law.
  • Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in writing and advocacy skills.
  • Interest in federal, state, and local tax controversies; LLM in Taxation from a top law school is a plus.
  • Previous government experience is advantageous but not required; property tax experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • LLM in Taxation is highly desirable.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California Bar.
