A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its team in Fresno, California. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of experience in various areas of law and will be committed to providing exceptional legal counsel while enjoying a flexible work environment.

Duties:

  • Consult with clients to provide expert guidance on legal best practices across a wide array of practice areas, including cannabis law, public works, real estate, and more.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues, preparing briefs for submission to supervising attorneys.
  • Draft, review, and summarize legal documents such as contracts and agreements, recommending modifications as necessary.
  • Manage discovery processes, including the examination of electronically stored information and physical documents in preparation for litigation.
  • Evaluate probable outcomes of cases, advising clients on their legal rights and obligations, as well as the merits of prosecuting or defending lawsuits.
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, developing and presenting legal strategies.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather evidence and ascertain case facts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues who have specialized knowledge in relevant legal areas to establish bases for legal proceedings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding their representation as directed by supervising attorneys.
  • Perform administrative tasks and special projects as assigned, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law in the state of California.
  • A minimum of 2 to 6 years of related legal experience, preferably in diverse areas of law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction and legal argument presentation.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities essential for client representation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Attention to detail in drafting legal documents and maintaining case files.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and legal software for document preparation.
