Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking experienced associates with private equity and hedge fund experience (4-8 years of experience), as well as candidates for Special Counsel, to join its Asset Management team. This opportunity is available in Washington, D.C. and offers a competitive salary aligned with the market. Location:

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to private equity funds, hedge funds, and other investment vehicles.
  • Draft and review fund formation documents, subscription agreements, and other legal contracts.
  • Offer regulatory compliance guidance on SEC and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Advise clients on fund structuring, transactions, and investment strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on developments in asset management and market trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on deal execution and client development initiatives.
  • Participate in leadership and diversity initiatives as part of the firm’s commitment to inclusivity.

Requirements:

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in asset management, with a focus on private equity or hedge funds.
  • Strong background in drafting and reviewing fund formation and related documents.
  • Familiarity with SEC regulations and compliance requirements for asset managers.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and projects concurrently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Washington, D.C. Bar

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills in fund-related matters.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
  • Client-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Team-oriented and capable of mentoring junior attorneys.
