Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join its growing transactional practice, focusing on complex commercial real estate and related business matters. This full-time position involves representation of clients in the acquisition, sale, leasing, and financing of commercial properties, including industrial sites, Class A office buildings, and residential developments. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting sophisticated legal agreements, conducting due diligence, and advising on business and real estate structuring. Location

Duties

  • Draft, negotiate, and revise purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, and easements

  • Review and interpret real estate laws, rulings, regulations, and due diligence materials (titles, surveys, development plans)

  • Assist in the acquisition and development of land by homebuilders

  • Prepare corporate documents related to real estate and business transactions

  • Manage documentation for homeowner, condominium, and community associations

  • Support clients through the entire transaction lifecycle, from negotiation to closing

  • Provide counsel on business formations and transfers of operating businesses

  • Offer ongoing general counsel-style support for long-term clients with real estate portfolios

  • Engage in client communication and relationship management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of transactional experience in real estate, corporate governance, business transactions, or related fields

  • Strong familiarity with lease transactions, purchase and sale agreements, property management, and title review

  • Experience managing real estate deals from inception through completion

  • Ability to handle multiple matters under pressure and within deadlines

  • Client-service orientation with a proactive, detail-driven approach

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland (or ability to obtain licensure in Maryland)

Skills

  • Excellent legal writing and drafting abilities

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills

  • Experience with homeowner/condominium associations (preferred)

  • High attention to detail and sound decision-making abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
