Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated attorney with a strong background in litigation to join their team. This full-time, hybrid position offers a balanced work environment with both in-office and remote flexibility. The firm is looking for an attorney with a keen interest in insurance defense, tort litigation, and fraud investigation, to represent their clients across various legal matters.

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload of insurance defense and fraud litigation matters, including both commercial and personal automobile, property and casualty, and subrogation cases.
  • Represent clients in personal injury defense, bad faith litigation, and PIP (Personal Injury Protection) claims.
  • Investigate and prosecute insurance fraud cases, as well as support clients in declaratory judgment actions and civil recovery suits against medical providers, auto body shops, and other entities.
  • Participate in legal research, drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure effective representation.
  • Maintain billable hours in line with the firm's expectations while promoting a reasonable work-life balance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in litigation, preferably in insurance defense, personal injury, or fraud-related cases.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and research skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar (license to practice law in the state of employment).

Skills:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage complex cases.
  • Experience with insurance defense, PIP, and personal injury law preferred.
  • Comfort with hybrid work models and proficient in the use of legal technology for remote collaboration.
