A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Patent Attorney with 1-4 years of experience in patent law. The ideal candidate must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and should preferably have a background or work experience in software, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. Strong communication skills, exceptional writing abilities, and a robust work ethic are essential for this role.

Job Duties:

  • Conducting interviews with inventors to understand inventions and assess patentability.
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the fields of software, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
  • Analyzing and responding to patent office actions, including rejections under 35 U.S.C. 101.
  • Providing strategic advice on patent portfolio development and management.
  • Conducting patent searches and due diligence investigations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar and in good standing in at least one state.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO.
  • 1-4 years of experience specifically in patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Background or work experience related to software, artificial intelligence, or machine learning is preferred.
