Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate with 3–6 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded background in leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and sale-leaseback transactions, particularly within the context of M&A deals. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on complex real estate matters and contribute to a collaborative legal team.

Duties

  • Represent clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions

  • Draft and negotiate documentation for property acquisitions, dispositions, and leasebacks

  • Conduct and manage real estate due diligence, including title and survey review

  • Advise on the real estate aspects of mergers and acquisitions

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and external stakeholders to ensure deal execution

  • Analyze lease agreements and advise clients on leasing strategy and compliance

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in commercial real estate transactional work

  • Exposure to real estate aspects of M&A transactions strongly preferred

  • Hands-on experience with commercial leasing, sale-leasebacks, and property sales/purchases

  • Ability to independently manage real estate components of complex deals

  • Strong understanding of due diligence processes and title/survey matters

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in reviewing title reports, surveys, and due diligence materials

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
