A law firm is seeking a talented Lateral Antitrust Associate Attorney to join their team in Redwood City, CA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in analyzing transactions for competition issues, particularly with a focus on the Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and its implementing Rules. Advocacy experience before the DOJ and FTC, particularly in technology, life sciences, and private equity transactions, will be highly valued.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting in-depth analysis of transactions for competition issues, with a particular emphasis on HSR Act compliance.
  • Providing substantive analysis and procedural guidance related to HSR Act requirements and filing logistics.
  • Advocating on behalf of clients before regulatory bodies such as the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
  • Handling antitrust matters within technology, life sciences, and private equity sectors.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and clients to develop effective legal strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Relevant Bar admission or eligibility to promptly obtain admission in California.
  • Demonstrated experience in antitrust law, particularly with a focus on HSR Act compliance.
  • Excellent academic credentials and comparable law firm experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in analyzing transactions for competition issues.
  • Strong understanding of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and its implementing Rules.
  • Advocacy skills before regulatory bodies such as the DOJ and FTC.
