Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of diverse immigration cases efficiently.
  • Visit and conduct intake with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications for removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review immigration application packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations to determine the appropriate legal strategy.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential benefits for their cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be an active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction).

Certifications:

  • None required beyond bar admission.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Strong client-relations skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
