Post-Conviction Relief Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, is seeking a dedicated Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join their team. Location:

• Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare legal documents for post-conviction relief cases.
• Handle cases related to motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
• Represent clients in motion hearings and provide strategic advice post-hearing.
• Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing on behalf of other attorneys.
• Draft motions, manage court appearances, and conduct legal research.
• Analyze potential case outcomes using legal precedents and advise clients accordingly.
• Collaborate with the Post-Conviction Relief Team, consisting of attorneys and legal assistants, to manage caseloads.
• Manage a caseload and ensure timely completion of casework.

Requirements:

• Criminal defense experience or immigration law experience.
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to strategic discussions.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar (California) or actively seeking admission.

Skills:

• Experience in criminal defense or immigration law.
• Legal research and writing proficiency.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with legal document preparation, court appearances, and case management.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
