Defense Litigation Associate Attorney

A prestigious law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team. This role will primarily focus on medical malpractice defense, with responsibilities spanning court appearances, depositions, expert consultations, drafting reports, motion practices, and reviewing case records.

Duties:

• Manage medical malpractice defense cases, including drafting and filing motions.
• Conduct depositions and represent clients in court proceedings.
• Collaborate with clients to provide updates and prepare case strategies.
• Review records, documents, and other evidence critical to case development.
• Communicate with experts to gather information and build case arguments.
• Work effectively in a team setting, while handling a significant caseload independently.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation.
• Active admission to the New York State Bar.
• Proficient in motion practice, depositions, and case management.
• Ability to balance independent work and team collaboration.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
