A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their Immigration Team. The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. This role involves representing clients in immigration proceedings, preparing applications, and providing strategic legal advice.

Duties:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and manage a caseload of immigration cases.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts to clients and present strategic solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse workload of immigration cases efficiently.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intake interviews with detained individuals.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration applications and packets, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to develop case strategies and advise on necessary legal actions.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify and pursue potential case benefits.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 0-3 years of immigration law experience.
  • Active Bar admission in California (or law graduates awaiting admission will be considered).
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR cases, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing immigration applications and legal briefs.
