Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney licensed in North Carolina to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while gaining hands-on experience in foreclosure law and creditors' rights. You will be responsible for representing clients in foreclosure actions, conducting legal research, and preparing various legal documents. Duties:

  • Represent clients throughout all stages of the foreclosure process, including contested foreclosures.
  • Review conditions precedent to filing actions, including loan documents, financials, and demand letters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence for initiating and maintaining foreclosure actions.
  • Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, regulatory issues, and servicing requirements.
  • Attend court hearings and liaise with opposing counsel.
  • Ensure internal client systems are updated with findings, documentation, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
  • Manage a high volume of work while meeting deadlines set by clients, courts, and investors.
  • Utilize firm and client systems to ensure timely completion of all required tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software.
  • Prior experience in foreclosure law, including federal and bankruptcy courts, is a plus.
  • Previous experience with electronic case management systems is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in North Carolina.

Certifications:

  • North Carolina State Bar membership required.
  • Admission to federal and bankruptcy courts in North Carolina is a plus.
