Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm located in Miami, FL is actively seeking a litigation associate to support its thriving practice focused on representing property owners in disputes involving homeowner and condominium associations. This role also offers exposure to broader commercial and real estate litigation, including complex contractual and partnership disputes. The position is suited for a motivated legal professional eager to make a meaningful impact while expanding their litigation skillset across residential and commercial matters.

Duties:

• Manage and litigate disputes related to homeowners’ associations and condominium associations

• Handle commercial and real estate litigation, including:

  • Contractual disputes

  • Shareholder derivative matters

  • Partnership conflicts

  • Investor-related claims

• Draft and negotiate legal contracts and settlement agreements

• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence

• Conduct legal research and evaluate case law and statutes

• Oversee case preparation, including evidence gathering and witness coordination

• Attend court proceedings in local, state, and federal jurisdictions

• Track and record billable hours with a monthly target of 130 hours

• Engage directly with clients to manage expectations and maintain case momentum

• Participate in bonus-eligible activities for exceeding billing thresholds

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of relevant litigation experience

• Demonstrated interest or experience in HOA, commercial, or real estate litigation

• Strong written and verbal advocacy skills

• Ability to independently manage cases and meet litigation deadlines

• Familiarity with both trial preparation and settlement negotiation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy

• Sound legal reasoning and case analysis

• Effective communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Detail-oriented approach to litigation and case strategy
