Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles seeks a skilled Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle various transactional and litigation matters related to construction and development projects, providing strategic advice and support to clients.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claims.
  • Support litigation and arbitration proceedings, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions and preparing for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality work products, respond to correspondence promptly, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Adhere to firm policies and practices, maintaining professional relationships and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Engage in various activities, including computer work, virtual meetings, and conference calls as required.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction contracting and development.
  • Experience with transactional and litigation support in construction and development projects.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard agreements such as AIA forms.
  • Preferred experience in litigation or arbitration.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
  • Attention to detail and good business judgment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to influence others.
  • Persuasive communication and management skills.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar.

Education:
