Job Overview

A rapidly growing law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney with expertise in Estate Litigation and Estate Administration. This full-time role is based in Rockville Centre, NY, and involves managing complex estate-related cases. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in Surrogate’s Court litigation, with additional experience in Tax, Elder Law, Corporate, or Real Estate law considered a plus.

Duties

  • Manage estate litigation and administration cases with direct client contact and primary responsibility for complex matters
  • Handle routine aspects of Surrogate’s Court litigation independently
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to prepare legal documents and manage case files
  • Collaborate with partners and junior staff to ensure effective case progression
  • Engage in project management and supervise junior staff, offering guidance and training as needed
  • Optional involvement in Tax, Elder Law, Corporate, or Real Estate matters based on experience

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate litigation and administration
  • Proficiency in Surrogate’s Court litigation processes and procedures
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently, handle client communications, and take responsibility for complex cases

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications and Skills

  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • Preferred experience with Clio case management software
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus
  • Prior experience clerking at a Surrogate’s Court highly valued
  • Strong project management and supervisory skills, with an ability to mentor junior staff
