A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Miami, FL. Duties:

  • Advise clients on immigration matters and provide strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent clients, both detained and non-detained, in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a full caseload, ensuring that cases are progressing efficiently and effectively.
  • Visit detention centers and conduct client intakes to assess cases.
  • Prepare and file a wide range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian cases.
  • Review immigration documents and applications, making necessary adjustments and ensuring completeness.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay informed on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients to discuss their immigration needs, determine the best course of action, and develop tailored strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Provide thorough legal analysis to assess case benefits and identify optimal strategies.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs in support of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance cases through the legal process.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Experience in family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS processes.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong legal research and drafting skills.
