Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice group. The role will involve working with clients on complex legal issues, conducting in-depth research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients at various stages of litigation. This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Location:

• White Plains, NY

Duties:

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Retain and evaluate expert witnesses.
• Meet annual billable hour requirement of 1,950 hours.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Admitted to practice in New York State (other state admissions a plus).
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent client relations skills and professional telephone demeanor.
• Timely response to email and phone inquiries.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
