Family Law Attorney

A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Family Law Attorney to join their practice. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice law in Arizona and have prior experience in family law. The role requires strong writing, litigation, and communication skills to handle various family law matters effectively.

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and property division.
• Draft and file legal documents, such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Prepare and argue motions and attend court hearings, including Law and Motion, Request for Order, Trial Setting Conference, and Settlement Conference.
• Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice on family law issues.
• Negotiate settlements and handle mediation sessions.
• Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients and colleagues.
• Manage case files, ensuring compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Stay updated on changes in family law regulations and case law to provide accurate and timely legal advice.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Arizona and in good standing.
• Prior experience in family law is required.
• Strong litigation skills, including the ability to argue motions and handle court proceedings.
• Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, court officials, and opposing counsel.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a diverse caseload.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Arizona.
