Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Covina, CA seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney passionate about helping individuals navigate complex family matters. This role offers an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision while working alongside a supportive team. Duties:

  • Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including but not limited to requests for orders, domestic violence restraining orders, disclosures, and discovery.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support cases.
  • Draft a wide range of legal documents, such as petitions for paternity, dissolution matters, requests for orders, responsive declarations, settlement briefs, and trial memorandums.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, negotiations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Manage the administrative aspects of client cases, including billing, setting meetings, and coordinating with the support staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and meet important deadlines.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop legal strategies and provide advice on family law matters.
  • Stay updated on evolving family law statutes and case law.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing Family Law.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in family law matters, including but not limited to child custody, divorce, spousal support, and property division.
  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with family law software and general law firm technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
