Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in various immigration matters, including removal proceedings and family-based petitions. This role requires a strong understanding of immigration law, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective management of a diverse caseload.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse workload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective case management.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to discuss changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and determine the appropriate legal strategy.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to identify potential benefits and implications for their cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload effectively.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • High-caliber interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in family-based Petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, legal writing, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant state.

  • Extensive knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and legal research skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with various stakeholders.
