Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level associate (2-5 years of experience) to join its expanding telecommunications practice in Washington, D.C. The practice covers a wide range of issues before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), NASA, NOAA, the Department of Commerce, and other federal agencies, courts, and states. This is an exciting opportunity to work on both regulatory and transactional matters within the telecommunications industry, including satellite regulations, due diligence, and commercial contract drafting. Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Handle regulatory and transactional matters within the telecommunications industry.
  • Work on issues before federal agencies such as the FCC, NASA, and NOAA.
  • Assist with satellite regulations, transactional due diligence, and commercial contract drafting for telecommunications clients.
  • Support clients in navigating the telecommunications regulatory landscape.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on complex telecommunications issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in telecommunications law, particularly with regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Experience with satellite regulations and drafting commercial contracts is highly encouraged.
  • Strong interest in federal telecommunications law, including issues before agencies like the FCC, NASA, and the Department of Commerce.
  • Admission to the DC Bar or eligibility to be admitted to the DC Bar.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, client-focused environment.

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be in good standing with the DC Bar or eligible for admission.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the DC Bar (required) or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications law, including regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Experience with satellite regulations and commercial contracts in the telecommunications sector.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage complex legal matters.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
