Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, prepare, and prosecute patent applications related to product design and user interface technologies.
  • Conduct patent searches and provide detailed analysis of patentability and infringement risks.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and product designers to understand technical innovations and translate them into high-quality patent applications.
  • Analyze existing patents and provide strategic counsel to clients regarding potential litigation or licensing opportunities.
  • Stay updated on developments in patent law, particularly as they relate to software, AI, IoT, and quantum technologies.
  • Support clients with due diligence, including reviewing and analyzing third-party patents.
  • Manage client communications and develop strategies for securing broad patent protection.
  • Review and analyze office actions, prepare responses, and conduct examiner interviews as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases and legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Strong background in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Demonstrated experience working with technologies related to software, artificial intelligence, IoT, networking, or quantum technologies.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).
  • High academic achievement and a proven track record in patent law.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • JD from an accredited law school is required.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the USPTO is mandatory.

Skills:

  • Superb writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to assess legal and technical documents thoroughly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
