Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected Florida-based law firm with offices in Sarasota is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to support its growing real estate and community association practice. This position primarily involves providing legal advisory services to condominium and homeowner associations, as well as other business entities. While the focus is on transactional and governance matters, occasional support in litigation-related activities is also expected. Ideal candidates bring a background in association or real property law, possess strong communication skills, and are eager to contribute to a collaborative legal environment.

Duties:

  • Deliver legal guidance to condominium and homeowner associations on regulatory compliance and governance

  • Draft and revise contracts, governing documents, corporate records, and various legal instruments

  • Support litigation attorneys with pleadings and limited court-related work when necessary

  • Research statutory and regulatory issues affecting community associations

  • Participate in meetings with clients, including board meetings and municipal hearings

  • Assist in the negotiation and preparation of settlement agreements

  • Collaborate with senior legal staff on strategic case development

  • Maintain awareness of legislative changes impacting community associations and property law

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-7 years of experience in community association law or real property legal practice

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as external general legal advisor to associations or business clients

  • Admitted to practice law in Florida and good standing

  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical abilities

  • Comfortable working directly with clients and managing multiple matters simultaneously

  • Interest in contributing to business development is advantageous

  • A portable book of business is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida

Skills:

  • Proficiency in tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of professionalism and sound judgment

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
