A law firm in New York City is actively seeking a Managed Care Associate Attorney with a solid background in managed care, demonstrating expertise in provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the field, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a desire to take immediate responsibility for legal matters. This role requires motivation, personability, articulation, and effective collaboration, along with experience in a law firm setting. The candidate should possess strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and 4-7 years of experience in general litigation and/or arbitration.

 

Duties:

  • Handle managed care cases, specifically provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits.
  • Manage out-of-network payor provider litigation matters.
  • Assume immediate responsibility for legal matters within the managed care practice.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and contribute to brief writing.
  • Participate in oral arguments and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and other professionals within the law firm.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of general litigation and/or arbitration experience.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional writing skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of managed care.
  • Motivated, personable, articulate, and capable of effective collaboration.
  • Experience working in a law firm setting.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Preferred law school experience includes law clerk internships, moot court, or law review/journal participation.

 

Certifications:

Bar license in at least one of the following states: California, Texas, or Florida (preferred).

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes.
  • Legal research and analysis skills.
  • Strong brief writing and oral argument skills.
