Job Overview
A law firm specializing in plaintiff-side personal injury and school/government liability cases is seeking a Trial Attorney to manage a substantial caseload, focusing on trials, litigation plans, discovery, and client interactions. This position is for an experienced trial attorney with 2-5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for trial work, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to manage a large volume of cases while maintaining exceptional client relationships. Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are highly preferred.

Duties

  • Handle cases from complaint filing to trial
  • Lead the litigation team and provide guidance
  • Take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Review drafted documents from staff and associates
  • Develop trial preparation strategies and materials
  • Prepare and strategize Motions in Limine and other trial documents
  • Engage in settlement negotiations
  • Conduct mediations, arbitrations, and other settlement/dispositive proceedings
  • Act as first and second chair in jury trials
  • Prepare and file post-trial motions
  • Provide legal opinions and updates to clients

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of relevant personal injury experience
  • At least 3-5 jury trials as first chair
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of personal injury litigation experience
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong multitasking abilities and large caseload management
  • Strong legal research and analysis skills
  • Solid legal writing skills, including law and motion experience
  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership with the California State Bar

Skills
