Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of real estate law, including sales and acquisitions, leasing, financing, construction, litigation, and title matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, loan agreements, guaranty agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Conduct title and survey reviews, including identifying potential issues and managing title insurance.
  • Advise clients on zoning, permitting, development issues, and regulatory compliance, including energy and renewable energy projects.
  • Manage transactions involving tax-deferred exchanges, bond finance structures, and other complex financing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop legal strategies for property development and investment, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and team members to provide comprehensive legal services to corporate and real estate clients.
  • Participate in real estate litigation matters, including resolving disputes related to construction, leasing, and other property issues.
  • Maintain regular client communication, offering legal guidance and strategic counsel.
  • Stay informed about changes in real estate and corporate law, applying that knowledge to client matters.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in real estate, corporate, or banking law.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with commercial real estate transactions, including drafting and negotiating key documents (e.g., purchase agreements, loan agreements, guaranty agreements).
  • Experience with title and survey review, permitting, zoning, and development, particularly in energy and renewable energy projects, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with bond finance structures is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials, excellent analytical skills, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in handling complex transactions independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in technology, including legal research tools and real estate transaction software.
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida (required).
  • Additional licenses in other states (a plus).
