Job Overview: A law firm in Columbus, OH, seeks a skilled Tax Associate Attorney to join their team. The role involves providing clients with comprehensive tax advice and support, focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis of tax implications in M&A transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including transactional agreements, tax opinions, and memoranda.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies and compliance issues.
  • Represent clients in tax disputes and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting M&A activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in tax law, specifically in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience with an AmLaw 200 tax group, federal Tax M&A group, or similar role at a Big 4 Accounting firm preferred.
  • LL.M. in Taxation from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Ohio or eligibility to waive into the Ohio bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
