Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for growth within a fast-paced environment, where the successful candidate will work on a diverse range of criminal defense cases. The position provides the flexibility for remote work but requires local candidates or those in the Bay Area to attend court appearances as needed.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings and guide case strategy post-hearing.
• Manage court appearances, trials, and draft motions.
• Interview witnesses and conduct legal research to strengthen the defense case.
• Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of relevant legal precedents.
• Balance a caseload while providing detailed legal analysis to clients.
• Collect and present evidence to support the defense or challenge the prosecution's case.
• Prepare clients for depositions and strategize the best approach for each case.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of criminal defense experience.
• Proven experience in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active State Bar membership in California.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent courtroom demeanor and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficient in case management and legal technology tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Superior problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
