Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Family Law Attorney to represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, alimony, child custody, and prenuptial agreements. The attorney will handle a range of complex legal issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, and real estate division in marital disputes. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of success in and out of court, with a passion for helping clients through challenging life events. This position is located in Miami, FL.

Duties

  • Represent clients during court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
  • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to move cases through the civil litigation process efficiently.
  • Assist clients by understanding their needs, analyzing their situations, and formulating appropriate legal strategies.
  • Oversee the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress, emotional situations.
  • A successful track record of representing both plaintiffs and defendants in family law matters.
  • Experience working with sensitive issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence.
  • Familiarity with marital property division, including real estate.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • Member in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Skills

  • Litigation and trial experience, with at least 3+ years in family law.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, including senior partners and paralegals.
  • Expertise in drafting and preparing legal documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop strategic legal plans.
