A law firm seeks a dedicated Consumer Financial Regulatory Associate to join its team in Seattle. This position is tailored for an attorney with a minimum of four years of experience in regulatory matters related to consumer finance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both state and federal regulations governing payments, credit products, and practices concerning unfair or deceptive acts.

Duties

  • Manage regulatory compliance matters involving consumer financial products and services.
  • Advise clients on issues related to payments, credit products, and compliance with unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices laws.
  • Collaborate with clients in the FinTech sector, mortgage lending, cryptocurrency, and other emerging platforms.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare comprehensive written materials, including memoranda and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, providing timely updates and exceptional service.
  • Participate in discussions regarding regulatory developments and compliance strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of experience in consumer financial regulations or related areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to client service and ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
  • Familiarity with emerging financial technologies and digital assets is a plus.
  • Membership in a local bar in good standing is required; prior law firm experience is not mandatory.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction and in good standing.
