Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Manage civil litigation cases from initiation to resolution, ensuring effective handling at all stages
  • Draft court pleadings, legal memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Oversee discovery processes, including depositions, filings, and motion defense
  • Represent clients at court hearings (both live and telephonic) and mediations
  • Conduct internal and external training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills of the team and clients
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, offering updates and expert legal guidance

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon and admitted to all Federal District Courts within the state, or willing to become admitted
  • Member in good standing with the Oregon State Bar
  • Strong legal research abilities and expertise in applying findings to complex legal matters
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle a diverse caseload independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Oregon State Bar
  • Admitted to practice in Oregon State and Federal District Courts (or willingness to become admitted)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle a varied caseload and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using legal software and tools for case management
