    A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Mid-Level Associate or Senior Counsel to join its expanding Insurance Defense team in Austin and Houston, Texas. This hybrid role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment on litigation matters with a focus on insurance defense. Candidates with remote working preferences and the right qualifications will also be considered.

    Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct depositions and represent clients in court appearances.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients in the insurance and general defense sectors.
  • Engage in arbitration and trial work as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft complex legal documents with precision.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and excellent service.
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably within insurance defense or general defense litigation.
  • Admission to practice law in Texas; a license in Louisiana is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with federal court case management, including procedural rules and best practices.
  • Practical experience with arbitration and trial preparation is preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Admission to the Louisiana Bar is a plus.
  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
