Personal Injury Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A leading civil litigation firm specializing in plaintiff-side personal injury and school/government liability cases is seeking a Remote Associate Attorney. This role offers an opportunity to focus on strategic case management and professional growth, rather than time-consuming administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in depositions, litigation, and an interest in trial work. Senior attorneys will provide mentorship and guidance, with access to AI-driven tools designed to enhance productivity and efficiency. Trial participation is an integral part of the role and will be introduced as the attorney gains experience.

Location

Duties

• Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters in litigation
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including filing complaints
• Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes
• Prepare clients for depositions and hearings
• Take and defend depositions throughout litigation
• Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions
• Attend court appearances as required
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
• Lead and support investigations related to assigned litigation matters

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of personal injury law experience
• Strong background in personal injury litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
• Experience in workers’ compensation law is a plus
• Strong written discovery skills
• Experience in conducting depositions

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• California State Bar License

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting complaints, motions, and discovery responses
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
