Duties

• Represent medical staff in peer review hearings, including conducting witness interviews, drafting briefs, and presenting arguments.
• Advise medical staff on regulatory and accreditation compliance, including applying peer review statutes, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and Joint Commission standards.
• Draft and review medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex healthcare law issues.
• Stay current on emerging healthcare laws and regulations to provide informed legal counsel.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in healthcare law.
• Strong understanding of peer review statutes, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and Joint Commission standards.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed memoranda.
• Strong work ethic and a collaborative approach to working with medical staff and colleagues.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of California is required.
