Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join its team focusing on electrical engineering and software technologies. This role provides an exciting opportunity for candidates with experience in patent law and a technical background in electrical engineering, software, or related fields. The successful candidate will play a critical role in drafting, prosecuting, and litigating patents for innovative technologies.

Location:

  • Mountain View, CA

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and related fields
  • Represent clients in patent litigation matters
  • Counsel clients on intellectual property strategy
  • Prepare and file responses to office actions with the USPTO
  • Manage and maintain patent portfolios
  • Conduct patent searches and legal analyses
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams on patent matters

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in patent prosecution and litigation
  • Admitted to the USPTO
  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Design engineering experience with chip companies is a plus
  • Experience with wireless communication technologies (5G, 6G, 3GPP standards) is a plus, but not required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration required

Skills:

  • Patent prosecution and litigation experience
