Job Title: Mid-Level Employee Benefits / Executive Compensation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group. This position is available in the Philadelphia, PA office and requires candidates to have substantial experience in various aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drafting, design, implementation, and administration of retirement and welfare benefit plans, along with the complexities surrounding executive compensation during corporate transactions.

Duties:

  • Handle a broad spectrum of employee benefits and executive compensation issues, including:
    • Drafting and designing tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
    • Implementing and managing health and welfare benefit plans.
    • Advising on executive compensation matters, especially during mergers and acquisitions.
    • Addressing taxation concerns related to executive compensation, focusing on Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.
    • Drafting employment agreements and other executive compensation arrangements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices to deliver integrated legal solutions.
  • Engage in business development activities to enhance the national practice's growth and support.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Proven track record in drafting and advising on relevant legal matters.
  • Exceptional academic background and relevant law firm experience.
  • Strong writing, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ambition, drive, and team-oriented mindset to contribute to a national practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing in PA.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Proficiency in tax regulations related to employee compensation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
