Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Executive Compensation & Benefits Associate to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in compensation structures, employee benefits, and transactional matters.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Advise clients on executive compensation structures, including bonus plans, equity awards, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, ensuring the proper integration of compensation and benefits packages.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate executive compensation and benefits agreements.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with applicable tax and securities laws related to executive compensation.
  • Conduct research on regulations and trends affecting executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide strategic solutions for clients' compensation and benefits needs.
  • Manage multiple client matters simultaneously, maintaining high levels of client service.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in executive compensation and benefits, ideally within a law firm environment or equivalent setting.
  • Prior experience with transactional work is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing executive compensation, including tax and securities laws.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide client-focused solutions.
  • Strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction (Texas, New York, or other applicable state).

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional client service.
