Litigation Attorney

Job Title: Litigation Attorney - Hybrid Position

Job Overview: A prominent law firm based in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic team. This hybrid role offers an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 0-5 years of litigation experience to gain hands-on experience across various fields, including General Liability, Professional Liability, Healthcare, and Labor & Employment. The firm offers a collaborative work environment with mentorship from experienced attorneys. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on complex litigation matters, providing counsel and representation to clients through all phases of legal proceedings.

Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all stages of litigation, including initiation, expert discovery, and trial preparation in matters primarily related to general liability.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, case management conferences, and other legal proceedings.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and manage discovery investigations.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, legal motions, case evaluation summaries, settlement agreements, court orders, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review and analyze discovery responses, and depositions, and prepare litigation update reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel on behalf of clients.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing legal analysis, updates, and advice throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 0-5 years of litigation experience in Pennsylvania.
• Active bar membership in Pennsylvania.
• Proven experience in drafting discovery documents, taking the lead on depositions, and arguing motions.
• Background in General Liability, Professional Liability, Healthcare, or Labor and Employment.
• Strong writing and organizational skills with the ability to handle a fast-paced and demanding workload.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis software is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills:

• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal documents.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
