Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified mid to senior-level Project Finance Attorney with experience in finance, M&A, and/or the development of energy and infrastructure projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a busy and growing sponsor-side energy and infrastructure team, with significant potential for career advancement, expansion, and leadership. Candidates with transactional legal experience, particularly in large renewable, conventional power, and energy projects, are highly sought after.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Provide legal support for the finance, M&A, and development of energy and infrastructure projects
  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit and security documentation, purchase and sale agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs)
  • Manage closings for financings or acquisitions/dispositions in the energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Draft and negotiate project contracts, including PPAs and related supply and offtake agreements
  • Advise clients on renewable energy, conventional power, and energy-related transactions
  • Work on projects involving hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, renewable natural gas, and data centers
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to structure and close complex transactions

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience at a large national or international law firm
  • Expertise in finance, M&A, or development of energy and infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience with large renewable, conventional power, and energy projects
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating credit and security documentation, PPAs, and merger documentation
  • Experience running closings for financings or acquisitions in power, energy, and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of project contracts, including PPAs and related agreements
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills are preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing (State-specific)

Skills:

  • Strong transactional legal experience in energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and deal-closing skills
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters in energy, power, and infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in various energy sectors beyond traditional wind, solar, and natural gas, including hydrogen, carbon capture, and battery storage
  • Effective communication and client management skills
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese (preferred)
