A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation and Trial Associate Attorney to represent public sector clients, including school districts, universities, and government entities, in litigation and administrative proceedings. This role requires strategic case development from inception through trial and appeals. Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in trial and appellate courts, as well as administrative hearings.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including depositions and interrogatories.
  • Develop litigation strategies and execute case plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Present oral arguments and advocate on behalf of clients in court.
  • Stay informed on relevant legal developments, particularly in education and government law.
  • Engage in frequent travel within Texas (approximately 5–7 days per month) for hearings, depositions, and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Active Texas law license in good standing.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of government and education law (preferred but not required).
