Litigation Practice Support Lawyer

Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Practice Support Lawyer (PSL) to support its litigation subgroups in various areas, including Patent Litigation, IP & Complex Litigation, Securities Litigation, and Employment Litigation. The role involves creating, managing, and distributing model documents and forms, developing and organizing knowledge resources, promoting the use of relevant technologies, and providing training for attorneys and paralegals. The PSL will also manage and draft both internal and external content related to the practice areas. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement available, allowing flexibility between remote and in-office work.

Duties:

• Model Documents and Forms:

  • Create, maintain, and distribute model documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidance.

  • Develop client- and jurisdiction-specific templates for court filings.

  • Identify forms for automation and collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team to implement automation.

• Knowledge Management and Innovation:

  • Develop and promote strategies for making practice content accessible, including case and judge information.

  • Assist practitioners in finding internal and external knowledge resources and technologies.

  • Build and maintain key practice information repositories, including data on judges and experts.

  • Collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team to drive efficiency, including implementing AI and other tools for client and internal use.

• Training:

  • Partner with the Attorney Training team to develop and present legal skills training programs for attorneys and paralegals.

  • Prepare presentation materials for training sessions and practice group meetings.

  • Assist junior attorneys with presentation skills and ensure training materials are archived for easy access.

• Internal and External Content Development:

  • Monitor market trends and best practices, reviewing both internal and publicly available materials.

  • Create and maintain content for marketing and business development efforts, including articles, client alerts, presentations, and blogs.

  • Stay current with state and federal laws, regulations, and case law, and update resources as needed based on legal developments.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in a litigation practice, with exposure to Patent, IP, Securities, or Employment Litigation preferred.

• Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.

• Experience with legal software tools, project management, and attorney training is a plus.

• Ability to adapt to changes in workflow and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar membership in good standing (state-specific).

Skills:

• Advanced legal research, writing, and drafting skills.

• Strong knowledge of legal technologies and project management tools.

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with attorneys, firm management, and clients.

• Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
