Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, estate, and trust administration, with a particular focus on high-net-worth tax and estate planning, wealth preservation, charitable giving, and business succession planning. This role involves working closely with high-net-worth individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and corporate trust departments, offering comprehensive legal solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with various practice areas to provide effective, tailored legal counsel to clients.

Duties

• Prepare estate planning documents including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and Living Wills
• Manage estate and trust administration matters, including appearances in Surrogate’s Court
• Assist with high-net-worth tax planning, including wealth preservation strategies, income, estate, and gift tax analyses, charitable giving structures, and business succession plans
• Collaborate with attorneys from other practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions for clients
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
• Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• 2-5 years of experience in trusts and estates law
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar
