Duties:

• Evaluate new cases to develop action plans, establish budgets, and offer strategic recommendations.
• Identify key pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as appropriate.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, while providing thorough reports.
• Engage in settlement negotiations, secure authority, and prepare cases for trial as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure smooth case management.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; willingness to learn database management systems.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent legal degree required.

Certifications:

• Must hold a current Bar license in North Carolina.
